And finally, a word about taxes...
Income tax has made more liars out of the American people than golf.” — Will Rogers, humorist

"Like mothers, taxes are often misunderstood, but seldom forgotten.'' — Lord Bramwell, 19th Century English jurist

“People who complain about taxes can be divided into two classes: men and women.”
— Unknown

"Taxes are what we pay for civilized society.'' — Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., U.S. Supreme Court Justice

These come directly from the IRS website, I guess somebody over there has a sense of humor.

Sales-Tax

Louisiana grants its parishes, aka counties for the rest of you, the right to levy sales-tax.  Since we are selling a repair/service on moveable property and not selling you a product we must and will collect sales-tax on all orders. Sorry to infuriate you sales-tax free states, you know who you are.  If you think about it, it kinda makes sense. Even though you shipped your tools to my state, when we repaired it here we used Louisiana's air, water, electricity, roads; you get the idea.  It would be sort of like if I was driving through your state and my car broke down.  When I got it repaired in your locality I would be asked to pay your state and local sales-taxes.

Unless...

1.) you are a reseller of this service, and will provide a copy of your resale certificate by the time your order is completed, or
2.) you are a government entity and can provide a copy of your tax exempt certificate by the time your order is completed.

Our sales-tax rate is currently 9.95%, I know it sucks but that's why all good citizens have a duty to educate themselves and then demand accountability for how "We the people" aka "The Government" spends, wastes, or even steals our money.  By the way if any of this interests you, there are these really two fascinating documents that will teach you all about it.  One is called the Declaration of Independence and the other is the Constitution of the United States.

Anyway, hope that helps and I know I will probably lose some business because of this but taxes really aren't evil it's what and how "We the people" do with them that counts.

Thanks for listening to my diatribe if you got this far.  Go be a good citizen and ask our leaders the hard questions and don't let them confuse or distract you.
